Robert Anderson grew up fixing cars, so automotive repair and technology was in his blood.  Robert began working at Sunrise Automotive in 1983 and purchased the company two years later in 1985, just nine months after his 18th birthday. Sunrise ran as a 4 bay shop under Robert’s leadership and in 2000 Robert purchased Horizon Automotive, the adjacent, foreign automotive repair shop. This acquisition added 6 more bays and expanded the shop into foreign vehicle repair. Also during this time Robert partnered with AAA which made Sunrise Automotive the only independent AAA certified repair shop in Westminster. He then began teaching part-time evening college courses covering engine smog programs and transmission repair at Golden West College from 1999 – 2004. In 2004 Robert moved into teaching full-time at Rio Hondo College. A year later he transferred to Cypress College to teach specialized engine performance courses, including the Toyota Engine Performance and Electrical Repair. Robert is an ASE Certified Master Mechanic and Certified Smog Check Technician. In 2021 Robert partnered with Ed Schroeder from Complete Auto, next door to Sunrise, which grew the repair shop to 14 bays. This partnership allowed Sunrise Automotive to go beyond foreign and domestic repair to include classic car repair. For over 40 years Robert’s commitment to automotive technology, growth and education has driven Sunrise Automotive forward to become the largest independent automotive repair shop in Westminster, California.

Ed Schroeder

Ed Shroeder has been in the automotive repair business since 1979. He started repairing vehicles at a shop in Huntington Beach rebuilding carburetors, working on fuel injection systems and handling general repair. In 1982 Ed opened his own full service automotive repair shop in Westminster, California, known as Ed Shroeder’s Complete Auto. Ed has been the sole owner of his shop for 40+ years and, together with his wife Michelle, has run the shop and grown Complete Auto into a business that customers have come to trust and return to year after year. Michelle has been the support system for Ed for the entire 40+ years they have been in business by handling appointments, invoicing, accounting, scheduling, ordering parts and providing customer service.

In 2021, Ed teamed up with Robert Anderson from Sunrise Automotive, the auto shop next door and combined their businesses and 40+ years of experience to bring a cohesive, trustworthy, and large full service automotive shop to the community. Ed, Robert and their team of knowledgeable technicians have a proven record of great workmanship and take pride in their reputation.
